The Silkshire Terrier is a cross between the popular Yorkshire Terrier and the Silky Terrier. Like their parent breeds, Silkshire Terriers are small in stature. Standing at about 10 inches and weighing under 10 pounds, these tiny Terriers pack a lot of personality into a small package. They have long, fine single coats that are blue and tan, black and tan or blue and red in color, and they require extensive grooming. Silkshire Terriers belong to the toy group, and they make wonderful companions. Because their exercise needs are minimal, they are excellent pets for apartment dwellers.
Yorkie-Silky Terriers are affectionate towards their people as one would expect from a companion dog, but true to their terrier heritage, they’re full of feisty personality! Despite their bravado, Silkshires have a soft side too. They need lots of attention and time with their family. Long hours of being left alone is not for them.
